Soulseek queue question

I've just started using Soulseek and am a little confused with the
queues. After I do a search for a particular song I get the list which
displays the results, dload speed, in queue etc. In the "in queue"
list it can range from 1 - 3000. Can someone tell me what these
numbers mean? For example, does 3000 mean that there are a maximum of
3000 people all downloading at once or that there are 3000 people
waiting in queue to download. In other words am I better off going for
the 3000 "in queue" file or the 1 "in queue" file.

Thanks,

Hasp

The number equates to the number of people in the queue. Therefore, in your
example, you'd be better going for the "1 in queue" alternative. Probably.

Here's a thing, if you don't like the queues. Most search results in
Soulseek are "in grey" and this means you have to queue to get them.
HOWEVER, the results in bold (black) you get instant starts every time and
you don't have to queue for them :)

Thanks all for replying. I'm still a little confused though. Say for
example I do a search for a particular artist. After the results are
displayed I usually get multiple mp3's of the same song from the
artist I just searched for as in the below example: Lets say I search
for Nirvana.

Joe Blo - Nirvana Smells like teen spirit -In Queue =2456
Joe Blo - Nirvana Come as you are -In Queue =2456
Joe Blo - Nirvana Breed -In Queue =2456
Joe Blo - Nirvana Polly -In Queue =2456

Mike G - Nirvana Smells like teen spirit -In Queue =1

David - Nirvana Smells like teen spirit -In Queue =5

Why are there exacly the same number of people in queue for all of Joe
Blo's songs. Surely there can't be exactly 2456 in queue for different
songs. I'd understand it if those numbers were different (for example
2456 in queue for Smells lilke teen spirit, 1025 in queue for Breed,
2176 in queue for Polly etc) but the exact queue numbers for different
songs is what's got me confused.

Also why is there only 1 in queue for Smells like teen spirit from
Mike G when there are apparently 2456 waiting in queue for the same
song from Joe Blo?

Hope this all makes sense:)

Soulseek users generally allow people to download whole albums and these
will show up on the queue as the number of tracks For example if an album
has 12 tracks and 10 people are queued up to download the album in full, the
queue will show 120.

So if one person were to request one track of the album using my above
example then the queue list would look something like this:

Joe Blo - Nirvana Smells like teen spirit -In Queue =2456
Joe Blo - Nirvana Come as you are -In Queue =2457
Joe Blo - Nirvana Breed -In Queue =2456
Joe Blo - Nirvana Polly -In Queue =2456

But this never seems to happen. The queue list numbers for all the
tracks are always exactly the same.

Haven't seen that. Maybe if you do a search of the user's file and download
the folder that the tracks are in, that may happen? When I tried this, each
track was listed separately with consecutive queue numbers.
